I’ve been struggling with this problem for about two weeks now and it’s been driving me nuts. There’s various fixes around the web, one that involves buying a $30 program that seems promising and some other ones that basically just involve you reformatting your entire hard drive. I’ve been down that road before and its NOT fun. So what’s the fix? I found the answer on this blog and it’s easier than you think.
Restart your Mac.
Hold Command + S as the computer starts up to enter single user mode.
Don’t be intimidated by the old school text interface, simply type in:
/sbin/fsck -fy
Let the computer do its thing and wait for it to say complete and then type:
Exit
It should take a minute or so and restart to your desktop. Give the Boot Camp Assistant another go and it should work now. This is the ONLY method that worked for me. Hope this helps out someone out there.
